Flight: Drawing Interpretations

Flight: Drawing Interpretations was the culmination of work at the National Gallery in response to the theme of ‘Flight’, developed over the course of a year by a group of practice-led researchers at London College of Fashion. The range of disciplines included fashion design, fine art, fashion illustration, textile design, costume and dance. The final outcomes took a variety of forms, including direct drawing on paper, animation, film, costume, performance and fashion design. As one of the ten artists selected for presentation, Xenia's work explored the concept of mapping, movement and location through the use of drawing, film and music.

The project was conceived and led by Charlotte Hodes, Professor of Fine Art at London College of Fashion. Alongside Charlotte and co-curators Ben Whyman and Dr. Flavia Loscialpo, Fiona co-curated the project's online interactive exhibition and website and publication, in collaboration with design studio She Was Only. As the principal photographer for the artworks, Daniel created the aesthetic for how the works were presented online and in the publication.

The project culminated in a curated Friday Late evening of performances and temporary installations at the National Gallery in June 2013.
