Flop — A typeface that fails. Miserably.

  • Alex Poryadina

Flop is an animated typeface, that challenges the conventional two-dimensional perception of letterforms. Built from simple shapes, it falls, rolls and ultimately fails.

Background

The project started as a study on typographic balance as well as construction letterforms. By deconstructing characters and combining different weights together, eventually, I started wondering what would happen if the whole letter starts to fall apart in different pieces? How would they interact with each other?
The sans serif letters constructed from simple geometric shapes were built specifically to be easily taken apart.
