For my FMP, I produced a book: The Process of Hand Lettering.
Hand lettering – “The art of drawing letters” A specific combination of letters crafted to be used only for one purpose. Normally drawn to be used as a display type.
By designing this book, it has helped me to develop my hand lettering process and my lettering skills. Not only that it has taught me how valuable the process of hand lettering is. I have learnt to be patient and use my time wisely not just with hand lettering but applying these things to other design briefs too.
My book is about the process of hand lettering; the process people go through to get to a final hand lettered piece, looking closely at my process, what is hand lettering? the history, related practices and some of the tools used to help develop the process.
