Food for Thought

Food for Thought is a project that explores our relationship with food and aims to question it. Food availability is something we all, sometimes, take for granted. Around 1/3 of the food we buy ends up in the bin and 'Use By' and 'Sell By' dates have become a sort of unquestionable entity which stops us from relying on our natural instict to avoid food gone bad.
By placing food scraps, which can still be re-used, in resin, they are given value, making them untouchable and congealed in time.
To accompany the resin cubes are photographs which highlight the value of them. The food was spray painted, making it look like jewelry almost. In a way, they are also preseved in time with the pictures.
