FOOTFALL

  • Bryony May Kummer-Seddon
Footfall was the second of three performances which were presented consecutively over one evening. Existing within one space the changes between each separate piece were evident through lighting and projection changes, shifts in soundscapes and the differing personas of any performers.
Footfall: was created to be an immersive performance. Performers invited audience members to walk with them and then would leave them in a different part of the space. While the audience was always free to reject the performers’ offer or move from the spot they were left many accepted and stayed until indicted to move again. As it was difficult to distinguish between performers and audience members some audience members were able to act like performers – moving others around as they liked.
