For The Love Of My People - short film

This was a collaboration between myself and filmmaker Curtis Essel (33Bound) and commissioned by Getty Images. I approached Curtis with a brief I have created which explored ideas around masculinity and identity. He then brought in the beautiful poem by Jillian M. Brown which is heard on the VO and seen in subtitles throughout the film. The film beautifully matches Brown’s poetry with pensive portraits that reflect a variety of "masculine" experiences.
