Four Islands - Branding
Branding for my side project Four Islands. I've been a fan of all things Japan for ages and this is my way of giving back. This is the branding for my self initiated project. I'm trying to keep everything in fours (hence the name and Japan having four major islands).
Started with a bit of inspiration hunting.
Then moved onto quick doodles with my iPad and apple pencil.
Then started to see if colour would help. Sticking primarily to mono with the addition of red from the japanese flag.
Before finally sticking with this nice, clean and simple icon. Reminding me of patterns often seen on traditional Japanese flags or clothing.
