2020 marks the start of a new decade, one that will ride the wave of the seismic consumer, political, environmental, and generational shifts that were mere ripples at the start of the 2010s. The idea that we may be automated out of existence, coupled with worldwide political unrest, and an omnipresent climate crisis that is changing the geographical nature of our world, may give the impression that we are headed for a dystopian future. Yet, knowing what we do now is leading to a fightback across the generational divide that is set to shape the next decade, where once we may have been idly complicit in our conspicuous consumption of products and resources, we are choosing to re-assess our values and work together collectively to foster change. So, as we start on this journey, at Year 2.0, I have analysed the global innovations set to realign the interconnected worlds of Work, Digital, Sustainability, Retail, Environment, Travel, and Beauty. Bringing together the key thought-starters across each category that will foster the most impactful changes in the 2020s.
