Getting started with meditations...

  • Maja Nenadov Webster

Two things that 80%+ of successful people have in common - they read a lot and they meditate daily. If you are not very enthusiastic about meditation, we don’t blame you - we weren’t either. We've tried it a few times and failed to make the habit stick. But hearing how many people we look up to and respect have some kind of meditation practice, we decided it was definitely something that we had to return to and commit to. We think the key is finding an app or programme that matches your personality. For example, we have made good progress with Waking Up by Sam Harris, which takes a more philosophical and rational approach. Another app that we also like is 10% Happier - which has a similar, practical approach to daily life. If you prefer a more spiritual style, then try the free Boho Beautiful Guided Meditation. Or Headspace is a good place to start for most people. Photo by Simon Rae
