Girls

My initial inspiration for that project was Suzon- a woman from a painting by Edouard Manet, “Bar at the Folies-Bergere”. While seeing the painting for the first time I was stroke with the density and emotions visible in the eyes of Manet’s sitter. Thinking of this painting I have created portrait titled “Girl in a Cyan Top”. That portrait has later become a composition canvas of my photographic series “Girls”. Following firs portrait I photographed a girl who reminded me of my sister- Girl in a Cyan Top. I started to think of women’s identity and photographed transgender individuals next. I followed the composition pattern and photographed three UK rock singers.
