GQ Awards 2015 Invite

The Brief: To maximise first impressions for the 18th annual British GQ Men of the Year Awards. Hosted in September 2015 by British GQ, in association with men’s fashion label Hugo Boss, the GQ Men of the Year Awards recognise the most talented men in film, music, fashion, TV, theatre, business, literature, sport and other arenas.

The Process: Working in conjunction with Condé Nast Publications, we came up with a triplex design utilizing laser cutting and the white ink capabilities of the HP Indigo. Two versions of the invitation (dinner and after-party) were created using black Strathmore Cambric featuring the GQ logo and Men of the Year 2015 laser cut revealing the Peregrina Classics Metallic Gold underneath. The Hugo Boss branding was printed in white ink and was the only printed element on the front of the invite. The event details were printed on the reverse in rich black over Peregrina Classics Metallic Gold.

Both invites were triplexed over black mount board to produce a 1800gsm finished invite

End Result: The invitation designs were a suitably stylish as ‘first point of contact’ for such a high profile event. Previous Award winners included Icon Iggy Pop, Sportsman of the Year Lewis Hamilton, Philanthropist Tony Blair and Women of the Year Kim Kardashian.
