Inspiration for this project links back to several trips I took as a child to India. Research into traditional dress and the vibrancy of colour led to remote townsfolk and their culture. Fabric manipulation was influenced by an annual camel festival held in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The colour palette was inspired by an image found of an elderly sadhu and continued to develop throughout this project. Textural influences came from research into the Aghori men of North India.
