Eating insects - feeding the future As our population continues to grow, new sources of food will be needed. The idea of eating insects might not seem appetising, but that problem presented a challenge. How to convince people that eating insects is good? More than 2 billion people eat them around the world. They're a great source of protein, with high sustainable and ecological credentials - possessing a surprisingly palatable taste. The solution was Grub, an interactive brand which engaged with the public, via a playful vending machine, we allowed people to taste insects for the first time and in turn educate newcomers about insects. Our trademark registered brand won a SEED fund grant to develop the idea. We attended festivals, built a brand and conducted a research expedition to South America & Mexico to source a supplier and visit world-renowned restaurants understanding how insects were incorporated into local cuisine.
