H.P.S (Hyde Park Spot) 2012

This piece has a special element by adding 3D elements from inspiration from architecture, model making experiences and vector work which is laser cut. The illustration beneath is applied by a 0.2 grey and black pen and I used the technique of pointillism. The image I used is referenced from personal photography shot with film in Hyde Park. Raised above are laser cut outs of MDF and red acrylic, drawn and designed on illustrator. Some parts are raised with piano wire and there are layers of cut outs applied to help with the structure. The piece is to symbolise synchronicity of two, merging and the connection of two, the symmetry and geometry are key factors to the design and representation. The dotted piece beneath is a location in Hyde Park, in 2012 I went regularly to the park and kept seeing the same birds hovering around and sitting inside and on the structure of the bandstand. Couples or two close friends have connections and have special and favourite locations were they meet regularly, plus are in sync with each other with comfortability and are relaxed in the familiar surroundings and environment. For lovers and special friendships that have strong bonds and the treasured and meaningful places were there relationships are enhanced.
