Project Aim:
“To have a basic understanding of sustainable design practices, and develop a product from reused materials in way that they can also be later reused. The project explores a world of modular, reusable, adaptable and long-life products to replace or extend the functions of today’s discrete terminal products.”

Problem:
To design a lamp from printer components, that can be cut, reformed and manipulated in anyways that sees fit. It is to behave and function like a lamp, which carries
inspiration from experiences, stories and emotions.

Solution:
Created through up-cycling old ink jet printers and scanners, Ha?z was constructed. Using the process
of slumping scanner glass and wiring up an old scanner bulb, a lamp with a green touch was created. The Ha?z terrarium is a low-maintenance indoor garden, with a light that can be used at night.
Highlighting the beauty of the glass material through the green glowing band, the piece creates a soothing and relaxed feel to the space it is placed within.
