Helping Investors Trust Cryptocurrencies with Base58
Based in Zurich Switzerland, Base58 was founded in 2017 and is a technology-driven investment firm specializing in crypto-assets marketed to high net-worth individuals, family offices, asset managers, and global banks. Using state-of-the-art technology and premium service, they offer investment and trading solutions to provide professional and institutional investors with access, know-how, and optimal exposure to this new asset class in a convenient and regulated way. In 2020, we produced a bilingual print magazine on cryptocurrency for their ultra high net-worth investor market.
The Paradigm
Despite the current notions around the mainstream popularity of Bitcoin, financial products around it are still uncharted territory.
During our research, we found that public opinion and narratives around it were outdated, and in many cases, a generally hostile attitude is still the norm in the industry. (Time of writing Q1 2021)
The Solution
To overcome such attitudes and allow new investors to safely explore this territory, we built a couple of concepts with the founders and complimented them with some of our previous experiences in highly-regulated industries.
In this process, having media to nurture a slow, informational pre-sale stage was crucial. We created an educational magazine that offered nuanced insight, sober attitudes towards the topic, and explained in detail the landscape using own and curated ideas, including some from the leading voices in the global industry.
This would allow interested parties to join the new world of crypturrencies as potential investors in a compliant asset class.
We created a print magazine that provided Base58's audience with accessible, insightful, original, and curated materials, and that also positioned them as an authority in the asset class to prospect and client investors. The content was curated, edited and then transcreated in German for the DACH market.
