Her story
This project was about an interview with a Chinese girl, who lived in a traditional family. Based on her stories of studying overseas I took a series of photos to express her struggle.
The upper bit looks like she is trying to help someone down there which implies herself in the old time but at the same time, she does't like the old her who was always told what to do. The shadow of her hand is like a gun, which implies saying goodbye to old times. She is chasing her dream now and feeling free. The downward bit implies the period when she had no clue what she wants. The lighting enhanced the emotion in her eye. I want to create the contrast as she becomes quite different after coming to UK.
In this photo she used her hands as a frame for herself to enhance her confidence.
