A social enterprise providing free pottery lessons to individuals with mental health issues.

Hope Street Pottery is a social enterprise set up by Jim Slicer which provides free of charge pottery and ceramics lessons to people with mental health issues. We provide tuition focusing on wheel based throwing pottery and teach to a very high standard. Jim has over 10 years experince as a potter and is very capable of making high quality ceramics. He also uses his background teaching in the prison service to share his skills, knowledge and passion. As well as promoting the therapeutic benefits of working with clay we are also passionate about food and local produce. We work with other charitable organisations to provide a growing network of sustainable services throughout the U.K. To fund the project we sell exquisite hand made functional ceramics as well as placing our work in a select group of galleries. we hope you will enjoy working with us and living with the pottery we make.
