Almost forty years ago subculture that should forever change the world of music started to form. It formed amongst the people who were rejected by the world because they didn’t fit in its standards. The music clubs started to be their shelters and places where they can truly be themselves and free. Places where diversity is welcome and all that matters is that beat. The history of house isn’t just about names and songs, it is about that real life stories of people who found love and purpose. It is about diversity and joy. I took these stories and transformed them into colourful visual language because I think, that now is more important than ever to remember that diversity shouldn’t be something to fear, but something we should admire.
I created three books mapping the evolution of house music. Vol.1 is prequel, vol.2 is house itself and vol.3 is my personal point of view. As a addition to there books, I created three vinyl desks from acrylic using laser-cut. These desks can be brought to life using augmented reality app - blippar. I also created a vinyl wooden rack to hold it all together. Everything including print and book binding is self-made.
