Hyper-Saturation

  • Ed Dickinson
Printed on newsprint this 24 page publication outlines a photographic essay entitled Hyper-Saturation. This series defies the idea of photography as a 'portrayal of reality'. Views are presented which cannot occur naturally. The coloured flash renders a hyper-saturated foreground whilst the conventional tones of the background offers the viewer a glimpse of normality present with the photographs. Influences by the likes of photographers such Benoit Paille, Elsa Bleda and Isabella Stahl the emphasis of this work is to abstract from the mundane of the everyday.
The publication is 24 pages in length, measures 380mm x 289mm and is printed on 55gsm newsprint. It contains 16 colour images as well as text providing an insight into the project.
