"I Suppose" Young Audience Book

  • Alfie Bryan

These are the interior illustrations for my young audience book "I Suppose", which is a story of six friends, all with invisible disabilities. Each character has a corresponding animal that represents their illness, for example, the autistic character has an owl, wise with a good memory, but with claws that entangle with the character's laces so she has difficulty tying her shoes. We go through the story exploring each character and their disability, how it helps and hinders them in everyday life. The children learn how to use their strengths to help each other when someone is struggling. It is a story about friendship, acceptance and independence.
