Hello.
So you will probably be wondering what is this page and why should I care. Well lemme tell you something hunny, if you’re] a creative or someone who cares about the importance of a women’s place within this mad world then your gona wanna read on.
My aim is to make this into a collective instead of a singular blogish project. The concept behind this is to really give a space for women and expressing ideas of identity. Naturally explaining the areas to which are not only important in the creative world, but are important to women from different ethnicities ,sexual orientation ,personal philosophy, religious beliefs, socio-economic status and mental and physical abilities.
The idea came across to me as I have noticed the lack of collectives within the London scene. I see that there are many open event’s and safe spaces but not enough for women to actually express their ideas and share ideologies surrounding issues that are important to us. I also want to make this as casual as possible with no restrictions. It will not be easy as to create work that is personal for someone may elicit a ray of emotions for viewers or it may not at all. In other words’s there is no right or wrong in how you feel and no one should feel alone, restricted or judged.
A bit about myself. I am British woman living in the uk with Armenian-middle eastern heritage.I studied English literature and Art History at university and I am truly fed up of the representation of women throughout history in constitutions as well as within the art world. I want this project to be a place for women who want to reach out to other people from similar backgrounds of ethnicity or are simply interested in understanding the stories shared by millions of women everyday.
In other words’s there is no right or wrong in how you feel and no one should feel alone, restricted or judged.
Towards the end of next year I would like to see people interested weekly event’s in London. Forum’s , night’s out and trips would be a great display of how a collective can work together, as well as exposing the need for more ideas like this.
