IAB UK (The Internet Advisory Bureau) is the industry body for digital advertising, committed to building a sustainable future in the digital space.
Whilst I was Head of User Experience at LAB Digital London, I was tasked to audit the existing site and extensive range of content for IAB. It needed a serious overhaul so as to create a richer but simpler experience for its nearly 1200 members and other visitors. Not just in terms of functionality but aesthetically as well.
I decided to design a sweet navigational interaction. I wanted the navigation to be the 'drawer that contained everything neatly'. Using the brand font, white on navy in a large point size, the user can see all of their menu options with the opportunity to dive deeper on each click. Check it out, it's really cool.
The challenge? A looming deadline to design, build and populate a hefty Sitecore CMS within a matter of 2-3 months - over the Christmas and NY festive season.
The result? Although launched a couple of weeks late and during the release of new GDPR laws, the site went live. The clients - extremely happy. And a design that looks great with a user experience for IAB and its visitors that still works 3 years down the track.
