IGas Annual Report

  • Charlie Gregory
An important aim of the brief was transparency for a company with operations regularly coming up against public opposition. As one of the safest operators of shale gas exploration in the UK and with a new CEO and CFO, IGas wanted people to see the benefits of the resources it produces in real terms with the aim of ‘reconnecting people with energy’.
The challenge was to maintain their outlook of being an extremely safe operator and combining it with the new aim.
With the objective of setting the standard for reporting in the onshore oil and gas industry, I undertook research into best practice in reporting along with detailed research into hydraulic fracturing and the wider oil and gas industry. Where gas comes from and it’s extensive uses in our everyday lives came out of this research which in turn led to some key messages throughout the report.
The report was set at a standard which sits level, and goes beyond the best practices of corporate reporting. It also pushed the company’s stakrholder communication standards forward with the inclusion of illustrations which were created, thus providing more transparency for their current and potential investors, together with the wider community.
