These printed & embroidered fabrics reference an account of a journey 3000ft deep into the sea and the formation and fragmentation of lines, shapes and colors at different depths.
The prints are inspired by the linear marks of waves and water movement at the ocean's surface, the strange foliage encountered while moving deeper, the whirlwind stream of detritus around 1000 feet in, and the gradual loss of natural light and emergence of electric light; the flashes, colors and sounds that punctuate the blackness that makes up the vast majority of our waters.
These abstracted prints originate from ink drawings and paintings and were later digitally printed on medium-weight outerwear fabrics and embroidered.
