    Istanbul City Branding - Student Brief

    This was one of my favourite projects. We were tasked with rebranding the identity of a city ensuring the look is contemporary and progressive. I chose Istanbul and developed the tag-line 'Where Time Stops'. Istabul is a unique city that has seen five empires come and go. I wanted to evoke the feel of the city which is famous for its architecture, ornate mosques and its geographical position on the bay of the Bosphorus sea, part of both Europe and Asia. The logotype was designed taking inspiration from the octagonal domes of the Blue Mosque which can be seen from an ariel view. The warm yellow dot of the i (again, an octogon) represents the sun which rises over the bay each day and compliments the bright blue chosen to represent the mosque tiles that are abundant in the city.
