Business Coach/Mentor/Consultant ∙ PR & Marketing Manager ∙ Project Manager ∙ Office/HR Manager ∙ Finance Manager ∙ Designer With an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to help others, I specialise in working with entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. However, the challenge of a business which is moving in a new direction, developing or requires a ‘fresh approach’ is always appealing. Highly experienced and skilled in several areas, I combine Business Services, and Design to provide many companies and individuals with an excellent service. My current projects span a cross spectrum of industry and include, business management/support, finance, architecture and property development, charities, music and IT. I work with these clients to varying degrees covering many aspects of mentoring/coaching, administration, HR/financial/GDPR/statutory requirement advice, business development, accountancy, bookkeeping, public relations, event/project management, design and marketing. My work is always accurate, efficient and to the highest standard. Time management, creative and accounting skills gained in previous employment, and further developed since, has allowed me to successfully provide an excellent service to my clients. Voluntary: Volunteer work has become an increasing focus for me in recent years, and although I have always been involved in voluntary endeavours, I am trying to dedicate more of my time as each year progresses. I am currently involved in fundraising activities for two charity organisations which are very close to my heart; Asthma & Lung UK (previously British Lung Foundation) and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, with one of my main personal challenges to date to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2026. I am currently preparing to be a volunteer Kayak Tour Guide on the canals around Birmingham city centre. I worked for many years with a dedicated team of volunteers, at an outward-bound camp for young people, providing a wide range of activities. I was initially involved as a young person 35+ years ago, becoming a volunteer as an adult, teaching fitness, sailing, art and other activities. For several years, I was also a member of the management team. It is an annual temporary campsite on the banks of Loch Lomond, which requires efficient planning throughout the year and a substantial amount of physical effort of the team to set up, run and take down, however, it is highly rewarding. Public Speaking, Events & Lecturing: I currently speak at medical events and seminars, organised or attended by the British Lung Foundation, and I am also a visiting lecturer at Universities, delivering lectures and workshops, relating to the patient experience and self-management of long-term conditions. I speak at medical events/seminars on behalf of BLF, and I am also a visiting lecturer at Universities, delivering lectures/workshops, relating to the patient experience and self-management of long-term conditions. Additionally, I review and contribute to health information publications produced by the BLF and sit on various review panels and patient think tanks. I am a member of the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust board. I am currently researching, networking and developing effective solutions for the medical industry to implement greater emphasis on exercise, nutrition and functional medicine in treatment plans, to be delivered on an individual basis, for all patients, but particularly those with long term or terminal disease. Office Management and Business Coaching/Mentoring: I have assisted numerous clients in establishing and growing their own business, including creating and implementing best business practice, administrative and financial procedures and policies, advising on business statutory obligations, HR procedures and ongoing HR advice and support, Health & Safety advice and procedural support, and ongoing general office management and financial management support.
