In my final project for my first year studying Graphic Design, I had to create a response to the design movement maximalism. I had to produce 4 pieces for a touring exhibition, including a piece of print, a screen piece and a 3D outcome. I called my exhibition 'Junk & Luxury'.
My response to maximalism was to make everyday objects useless by making them excessive and maximal. I experimented with lightbulbs, books, lines and mirrors, by adding colour and unnecessary objects so they became something no one would want.
I also produced a book of over 100 experiments I had undertaken based on the theme of maximalism.
