JURADE DE ST. EMILION, FRANCE

  • Neil Massey
I was commissiond by luxury travel company - 'Journey's to the East' to photograph Chataeu Angelus (Premier Grand Cru Classe A), Chataeu Siran, and Chataeu Du Terte. Photographed during the autumn festival in Saint-Emilion which celebrates the wine and heritage of this medieval city. The Jurade are the St-Emilion wine brotherhood who historically had administrative rights over the town. As part of the festival, they parade through the town in their traditional crimson robes reminiscent of the all powerful aldermen of centuries past.
