The charity Just for Kids Law provides advocacy, support and assistance to young people in difficulty; particularly those in trouble with the law, children in care, and those at risk of exclusion from school. They deliver this support through both lobbying activity to drive systemic change and through their work directly with young people.Just for Kids Law came to Cause4 asking initially for us to prepare a strategy paper which looked at their current business model, aims and objectives, and how they were meeting these, as well as to give guidance on future fundraising.
Since then, Just for Kids Law have offered a placement to one of Cause4’s graduate Associates on our Entrepreneurship Programme – a fast track training programme designed to equip ambitious, entrepreneurially minded graduates with the skills they need to become leaders in the third sector. Just for Kids Law benefit by being relieved of the challenges involved in recruiting, training and managing a high quality graduate and gain from on the ground fundraising support and strategy advice from Cause4’s Associate, Emily Foster (who is in turn supported by Cause4’s senior management team). Meanwhile, Emily gains the experience of working in-depth, towards specific objectives for one organisation, with ambitious targets and outcomes to meet.
