12th Battalion needed a new name and a new identity. They needed to reflect their change in position from a holographic company for the theatrical world, to a holographic content and staging company for brands and businesses. The media itself isn’t easily understood. One of the key challenges was how to convey just what holograms are. We devised an identity that plays with space to set up a holographic illusion. Abstract objects interact with the logo transforming it from a flat surface into a 3D space. We employed a framing device which acts as both the logo and the platform to visually represent the illusion. Treating it more like a TV channel, we created the first in a series of idents using abstract shapes to interact with the logo, creating a dynamic identity that can evolve over time.
