Murph turned around at the sound of footsteps. An old man, hunched into his shoulders and sporting the purple and white robes of Easter, was making his way down the aisle, greeting his parishioners. Murph spun back towards the front, trying to suppress the groan building in his chest. He didn’t have to be a Catholic to know that it was bad form to carry out a drop in an empty church whilst the priest was present. If he had been a believer, he might even have gone to confession afterwards. Since he wasn’t, maybe he’d have one less beer tonight.
