Kollektiv Gallery / Butchers 2013

Founder, Producer, Event Coordinator, Artist Manager Kollektiv is an award winning cooperative, exploring notions of collectivity and dispersion, focusing on group residences and exhibitions with a shared curatorial element. The residency takes groups of artists, who through a found friendship, manage a crowdfunding campaign, acquire a vacant property, collaborate on a concept and curate the space the art sits within - all of this is topped with a hands on approach to installing the exhibition and teaching events. This was the first gallery I'd ever opened. I learnt a huge amount about funding, planning, delegating, artist management and marketing. It was for this gallery and residency that I was awarded 'Most Outstanding Social Entrepreneur of the South East of England' and made a national finalist in 2014.
