Kuratiert

Kuratiert is brand new Berlin gallery that showcases and sells illustrated and rare things, owned by the boss and good friend Ellie Davey. She kindly commissioned me last year to design an exclusive signature image for the gallery. My brief was to illustrate the borough Kreuzberg where the gallery is located in West Berlin. This gritty yet casual inner city is home to students, artists and a large Turkish population. It is filled with laid-back cafes and bars, vintage shops and food stalls Markthalleneum. Kreuzberg has historically been home to Berlin’s punk rock movement as well as other alternative subcultures in Germany and I wanted to capture this resistant and youthful personality. ‘Kreuzberg’ will be available as limited edition screen prints and various other products soon.
