Kurenivka Unit is an interior design project of an apartment in a 9-storey building in Soviet union residential district in Kyiv, Ukraine. Only part of the apartment was under design. The bedroom and bathroom (isolated from area under design, to the left from the plan) were designed and realized by the architectural bureau before. The design is realized with possibly small changes. The scope of the interior was an openspace. It included an entrance area , an open kitchen connected by space with living area, dining zone and small musical zone.
The aim of the interior was to apply all the activities of the client in one openspace of about 40 sq.m. The walls of the previous planning situation of Soviet Union typical building were demolished and thus an openspace were created with its own zoning and participations (as storage spaces). The kitchen is small (the desire of a client) but with an area for taking the breakfasts or to host guests while cooking the dinner. The style that the flat is done in has appeared due to communication and wishes of the client. It’s not modern, but not classical too. The style represents client’s comfort zone and way of living. As well as the colors.
