LA Times Festival Curator

Being invited to curate the LA Times' first multimedia festival with some of the most amazing people I'm lucky enough to call friends, who also happen to be the smartest/most creative totalling: 5 x Grammys, 4 x Emmys, 9 x Nobels, 2 x Songwriter Hall of Fames, 4 x Webbys/Tonys

The renowned LA Times 'Festival of Books' (150, 000 attendees) introduced a whole new component to its 2018 festival with the introduction of NewStory, guest-curated with acclaimed singer-songwriter and innovator Beatie Wolfe.
Looking at forms of storytelling outside of the traditional scope, NewStory will celebrate the art of music for storytelling and explore the future of music through a lens of technology, design and art with today’s makers and thought leaders - from NASA and Nokia Bell Labs through to multi-platinum producers and songwriters.
  • Dates: April 21-22, 2018
  • Location: USC Campus, Los Angeles
Highlights include the Raw Space AR anechoic pop-up with Nokia Bell Labs, NASA JPL's lead creative talking Space Art, Emmy-winning Donick Cary (The Simpsons, Parks and Recreation, Silicon Valley), Grammy/Emmy/Songwriters Hall of Fame winner Allee Willis, Elliott Smith/Beck music video director & photographer Ross Harris and multi-platinum producers Kerry Brown (The Smashing Pumpkins) & Linda Perry (Gwen Stefani, Adele) in addition to premiere screenings, live performances, immersive AR/VR experiences, music as medicine and galactic broadcasts.
