Laser Cat

A giant cat head that projects art through it’s laser beam eyes.

Creatives worldwide are encouraged to submit their artwork (drawings, sculpture, painting, photography, cat photography and more) to Laser Cat. The more art he gets, the bigger he grows.

Commissioned by ADC Laser Cat is an interactive installation that formed part of the ADC Festival of Art + Craft in Advertising and Design held in beautiful Miami Beach. As it’s name suggests, Laser Cat is a giant cat with ‘lasers’ for eyes that uses high powered projectors to beam the personal art projects of the global community onto public buildings.

The simple brief for the Laser Cat project was rooted in ADC’s new vision, to recommit the creative industries to the art and craft of advertising and design. Whether working in a multinational advertising agency or a two-person design studio, there’s a common thread that binds all creatives, a love and appreciation for creating art. Laser Cat is a physical manifestation of that love.

Renowned artists, designers and illustrators have fed Laser Cat including Stefan Sagmeister, Milton Glaser, Banksy, James Victore, David O’Reilly, Tara McPherson, Jon Burgerman and many more. Multi-disciplinary design firms like Mother, Wieden+Kennedy and DDB Worldwide have also submitted art.

Laser Cat received global press from Swiss Miss, Vice and Design Week with American author Seth Godin calling it “a deliciously bizarre project”
