Last Days of Summer

  • Frankie Turner

Shot on what I believed to be the last weekend of summer in August 2020, I styled and shot these from my window out into the summery sky, while Lockdon 2.0 was well underway and we were limited to an hour of exercise a day. Capturing that feeling of a cold drink sat out in the heat building up a dewy condensed outside against the heat of the sun beaming down on a clear day, All while actually overheating in our live/work space in south London, Full equipped with a tin roof....not great for summer sun indoors. While working through the challenges of not being able to work with prop, food and drink stylists I used the time to focus on things she had to hand. Lending itself to my more still life style; but in this case with the added natural element of the sky, rather than a studio background. A mix of natural light and flash were used to capture these crisp and refreshing looking images, in true British summer style, it rained heavily the next day and was grey and dull for the next week.
