Last Leg is a drama about a young black girl living in 1980’s London. This is based on a true story, presented to me by director Ella Bennett. This was a particularly challenging one to write because it was very personal to Ella; it involved a lot of research, and a lot of communication between her and myself. I spent a lot of time developing character bios and creating an effective structure before I started writing. I was also meeting strict deadlines to make sure I didn’t hold back
