Library Of Birmingham Reference Works

In 2012 I was invited to take part in the Birmingham Library
Reference Works , described on the library's website as “...
the largest and most important photography commission
ever undertaken in the city [Birmingham]...” I was asked to
create a response to the archive of the library in the form of
a new body of work.

After several months of research in the archive and visits to
the (now almost demolished) Central Library I created two
separate bodies of work: one, a series of large and medium
format photographs meant for publication and the second, a
series of pieces that were made from reclaimed and
reinterpreted materials for the exhibition.
