Life of Pi Book Cover Design

  • Laura Angus

The brief was to create an engaging cover for the Life of Pi. I used colour to represent elements of the film such as the tiger, ocean and tragic loss. To create the image I looked at marbling as I wanted to evoke the sense of water, to achieve this I used nail varnish. The image took the form of a circle to emulate the isolated world that Pi finds himself in. I then placed this on a stripped back cover to convey isolation, carefully placing the type alongside the striking image.
