Life on Mars

  • Giulia Saccogna
A tribute for the 90th anniversary of the Russian classic “Aelita” (1924) by Yakov Protazanov on the eve of the 53rd anniversary of the first human flight to orbit the Earth by Yuri Gagarin. The event evolved around the relation between Mars and Earth, and drew a link between the two planets through works by contemporary artists engaged in art-science practice. Sight & Sound contributor Ian Christie introduced the screening.
