‘Lingering Games 吾有‘ has gone through three major devising phases. In early 2016, Cao Cong experimented with the concept ‘home’ in an accredited school project ‘dis(placed)’ with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. After that, Lingering Games entered the second devising phases – redefining the visualized concept, reconstructing the performance and further shaping the performers’ roles based upon performers’ perception of the concept and their physical movement. We also inspired by Italy Calvino’s novel Invisible Cities to polish our theme subject. The creative team began rehearsals with exploring inner relationship between the concept and the space, objects and other beings. The performance did the public rehearsal in London Siobhan Davies Studio with half-constructed-half-improvised structure and later was invited by World Stage Design 2017 to perform in Taiwan, after which the creative team started the third devising phase to deconstruct and reconstructed, cast new performers and in corporate lighting, sound, costumes and projection design. It was quite a success in Taiwan as part of World Stage Design Scenofest.
