Look at me ...if you dare

  • Yasmin Thompson-lamont

For my Pre Major project, I produced a series of ceramics and zine; focusing on feminism and the female form; prioritised to the way homosexual men view the female nude, through an unwanted, erotic glare. Using air drying clay, I formed quirky, flawed pieces; made to be seen by all wherever they sat; an ironic, attention seeking collection of ceramic women that only wanted to be seen with mutual consent; I.E. forbidden fruit. I also made a few phallus ceramics, in order to reverse the role and create pieces that made the viewer feel uncomfortable and constantly looked at. My ceramics have definitely evolved since this project! However, it's great to see how I've made progress through my most recent project by refining my ceramics and improving my illustrative style. Take a look... if you dare!
