Looking Up To Autism

  • Mi-Thi Nguyen
This project focuses on the stereotypes around people with Autism and the people who are not. Autism is categorised as a disability and that description of "disability" is taken too literally. The language on the usage of “disability” allows people to see others with such medical condition as weakness. Autism is a disability in social situations, communication and repetitive behaviours. However, some autistic individuals are Savants, who have prodigious capacities and abilities. What if autistic traits and behaviours assist their learning? The design outcomes aim to aid autistic traits and behaviours, and users discover the effective benefits the objects provide.
