Nowadays self-representation and promotion are everywhere. I have experienced
in cities across the world increasingly ego-centric behaviour where many people’s dominant topic of conversation is themselves. For many people eccentric self-portraits are an expression of their existence and an exercise in self-marketing.
The cultivation of one’s image in developing one’s ego is one of the most central aspects of this phenomenon.
This project was approved by my institution and formed part of my final thesis
for the apprenticeship. Over several months I dedicated myself to the topic of narcissism and self-portrayal in our society. The culmination of this work was
a magazine with essays and interviews which I wrote myself.
