Magnificently Mundane explores the idea of the every day. The boring. The things that we avoid doing but we have to do anyway as part of a daily routine. I wanted to elevate the idea of the mundane, combined with that of the ambiguous and photograph in a domestic environment.
I used mundane objects and combined them with mundane tasks in order to create something that is quite quirky. I went with the idea of using household sponges, and seeing what other things they could be used for.
I found it rather interesting to substitute every day things for said sponges and photograph them, producing some rather interesting images which you almost have to double take to look at.
