Maker Weekend

  • Ellen Covey
Branding a DIY “maker-weekend” in a Berlin-based co-working space, and organising unique events, workshops, parties and experiences.

My job at betahaus involved producing visual materials for current events and workshops, often I’d be able to get involved with the organisation or running of these too, so it was fantastic to see the relationship between my designs and the participants at the event. One example here is the August Maker Weekend, a mini-festival with a full line up of DIY workshops and talks from startups. The illustration conveys this though a sketchy hands-on aesthetic, and a space theme implying exploration and new discoveries.

I also built tactile physical objects and installed hand-lettering for the festival and after-parties, which were featured in the Berliner Post newspaper.
