MANCHESTER UNITED FC - Who's That Team We Call United?

  • Charlie Battersby
A permanent, interactive exhibition detailing and comparing the lives of ten of the greatest footballers in the history of Manchester United.
From the pioneering Billy Meredith and struggles to form The Players Union to the original superstar, George Best, and the wealth bestowed on players of the Premier League era. The exhibition explores how the lives of footballers and the wider society that supported them has changed over the decades.
A 42” interactive touchscreen depicts 10 examples of the managers’ office from the past century. Each office contains 11 interactive information points on each player’s life.
The evolution of training and tactics, players rights, wages, ticket prices and life after retirement. A picture gallery and clips of match action, including rare and unseen footage bring each era and player to life.
Each player is introduced with a short animation covering key aspects of their life and career at Manchester United. The animations were created by the in-house animators at Fuzzy Duck.
Shortly after the project was completed the museum was awarded Large Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Manchester Tourism Awards in 2013.
