Marinade XII artists publication Iain Sinclair

  • Susanna Edwards

Looking out over the sea in Hastings Iain Sinclair created a rhythmic wash of news like the waves of the sea or listening to snippets of television barely audible from another room 12 texts layered with film and poetry references history people and place. I letterpressed each text in undulating shades of grey on grey and created blind layered colour photo grams in undulating marine colours. The prints were held in beautifully made boxes in marine colours silver embossed for each of the editions. Cecile Barstad made the boxes. They sold to private collectors and The British Library artists book collection.
